Most 640's were only four bar. The fifth was an option. All 660's have 5 bars. The lift set up is a little different but not any better. All gear box, drive and bar parts are the same. We took a 640 and completly rebuilt it. We replaced every bearing in the whole rake and added the 5th bar. We also added extra teeth to all the bars.JD 640 rake.
