No, Candy Apples is a real studio that Cathy co-founded in the late 80s. I believe in season 1 the dancers were her own but after that they were largely sourced by production. I'm not sure if it's 100% confirmed but I remember reading that Cathy didn't want to subject her real clients to the drama of the show.
