measuring piston to cylinder fit is an art form. pistons vary, as do cylinder bore. making a torque plate jig would take a while. honing process is an art form to get correct x-hatch and finish. even removing a hone takes care. cleaning cyl after honing properly takes a very long time. ring fitting, etc.

The full wrap is reasuring as I do a lot of ground level brush cutting and 10 plies should have no problem stopping my MS 261.They take the same .325 bar as a 50ish cc husky. I prefer a 3/8 lp set up on them, it's quite a bit faster at that power level. That's how the chinese 45's came years ago. The 58's are fine with .325. 3/8 rim sprockets and clutches are dirt cheap for those saws and the same 3/8lp bar for the 25cc joncutters or a small husky like a 240 fit right ...

The 630's are closed port cylinders while 90% of the 61's are open ports. 630's are a major plus for making more power 4.3 hp stock.On the 036/034 I don't like going any bigger than a 16" also. The 5100 seems to feel really good with the 18" on it. I generally prefer an all around saw in the 4.5+hp range. His Upstart chain is more banged up out of the box than the loops I got in a 6 pack tightly packaged for shipping. Generally Stihl chain is the best which I think holds true here.

It makes adjustments really tricky, and I like to tune by sound and verify by tach.Very simply Start the saw and set the 'T' just so the chain is turning. Smoothly run the 'L' in and out to get the best chain speed. Readjust the chain speed with the 'T' and reset the best 'L' Back the 'T' out till the chain stops creeping,,,,,and a tad more. But yes you do often have to re-drill oil & adjuster holes. That is a common practice as is lengthening the stud slot. Stihl, Cannon, and GB have a wide variety of bars for 070/090's.
