Mar 5, 2021 · L5P fuel filter failure. After being down for weeks I finally took off on another haul yesterday and almost made it 100 miles. Pulled over and shut the truck off. Came back out and all it would do is crank. No start. Tried a few things that didn’t work then dropped the new GM fuel filter for a look. I highly highly highly suggest cleaning your TMAP sensor as a part of your preventative maintenance program. My '18 has 18,300 on it and I was getting codes P0106 for "manifold absolute pressure" followed shortly there after by an unclearable P00C7. I would never consider a LML after owning a L5P. $1500 to delete a Cummins or LML. $7,000 to delete an L5P. $3,000 to convert from a CP4 to CP3 on the LML. $700+ to level the GMC/Chevy compared to $100 to level the Ram. The truck has 73k miles on it, deleted since about 65k miles. In the past few weeks, it developed a notable vibration that will shake the entire cab of the truck between 1200-1800 rpm, regardless of whether driving, sitting still, in park, in neutral. So, I’m not thinking it is transmission or driveline related, and is something with the engine.

Regen issues, thumping sound from the motor, and a few other smaller things. The fuel pumps don't appear to be an issue on the L5P motors. At least not in the sense the LML trucks were.

It gets 30mpg on the highway at 65mph so I guess if it regens for 7% of the time then it will probably drop to 27 to 28 mpg.
