It may not shudder immediately but it will cause problems later down the line there’s no logical exemption to skip service no matter which way you think of it. I flush and fill my trans every 45k and I have had no issues. If it’s such a big deal go buy a different truck and deal with different issues. No automatic transmission is perfect.
