Great roll catches and the cross naginata r1 moveset is different from every other spear so it gives you faster attacks and more versatile options. As everyone knows dual katanas are pretty meta. Several hits make status effect build up great and they roll catch really well. Dual twinblades are really good.If you care about bleed build up than dual katanas get more hits per minute than 2-handed. 2-handing offers more stagger damage which will lead to more stance breaking (especially if you use charged attacks), also I believe you use less stamina than dual wielding. DS2 had about 120 possible weapon class combinations for power stancing. That's 6 times more combinations than there are weapon classes and each one needs a moveset that makes sense and looks good.
