See, I played 40k briefly in college and enjoyed it (but broke college guy =/= good GW customer) and lost touch with it. Didn't care so much about the 40k aspect. But I wanted to grab them bc I like precons and these had tons of new cards. Snatched up a set since my lgs had extras at good prices, and I've had a blast with the decks. My data only consists of games with 40k precons only, so it's not able to answer your initial question on power level againt all decks (that's probably impossible to answer definitively anyways).
