You want recoil try my Mod 29 S&W with 240gr bullets or a G20. Both the G30 and G23 are great shooting pistols and hit what you are shooting at.

My 30SF had problems going fully into battery when new: generally one round out of each mag. Seems the little extension the impinges on the firing pin safety was rubbing the frame. The 30 does shoot softer than the 27 and also affords you the benefit of a full grip. The 36 isn't bad either. It has slightly more felt recoil than the 30 due to lighter slide and thinner grip. Aug 4, 2011 · After a side-by-side comparison, the Model 30SF really isn't a lot bigger than the Model 39 or Model 36. A little wider than the Model 36 and a bit taller and longer than the Model 39. In addition, the availability of .45ACP vs. .45GAP was a factor in my decision.
