The SMSc is polymer frame and polymer lens. The RMSc is a metal frame and polymer lens. Either can be upgraded to a glass lens. I got my Wasp early - end of February 2021. It's still going strong. It has a metal frame and glass lens. I almost pulled the string on a Shield, then the Wasp came out and I got it.
