I played as bladelock for a long time and ended up respecing to pure Pala. You get the 23 str gloves which is +1 over the 20 charisma. The +1d8 on each hit is virtually equal to a third attack depending on how many dmg riders your stack.
Warlock is made for multiclassing. The class is okay by itself but: it's got the best offensive cantrip (which scales with character level instead of class level) and is made better at level 2 with Repelling and Agonizing Blast. With how Bg3 is, and with you wanting only a dip and not full-blown multiclass the only options I see are Fighter1/Warlock11, Cleric1/Warlock11, Pala2/Warlock10. I'd pick The fighter option out of these. Warlock 12 being my preferred option over all the dip options.

My Warlock (Archfey Bladelock) off-hands the Absolute's Warboard for the saving throw bonuses. If they ever fix Polearm Master so it adds the damage bonuses to the bonus attack then Polearm Master with a spear/quarterstaff and shield and dueling (the Hopolite build) is actually pretty good.

By act 3, you're AC and gear are generally good enough without one. The switch is somewhere between the underdark and the Moonrise Towers ending depending on your build. If you're asking specifically about the late game, lvl 12 builds then no it can't. It isn't supposed to, that's what a 2 hand weapon is for. NB: what I definitely don't want to do is Bladelock 5/Fighter 7 or similar, as I don't want to exploit the stacking Extra Attack bug/weird homebrew thing and want to be stronger on the spell casting.
