Although you can re-take the exam, you’re only graded against the majority of your peers and fellow bar takers once. Thus, it is helpful to go into the practice test with the best preparation possible. But the percentiles are still useful IMO. If you are scoring 36.1 percentile on CivPro, you are probably leaving "points on the table" - i.e., "gettable" questions that most of the other takers are getting correct. tl;dr - You need to maximize your points. Percentiles can help you see where you have more room to improve compared to your peers.
