In the 1930s, the Works Progress Administration (WPA) built a picnic area and castle like building out of Dakota limestone. It is rather cool and the view is spectacular - reminiscent of the view from Sterling Castle in Scotland.

Only a couple of miles outside of Lindsborg and off I-135, this free attraction is worth a stop. A winding road will take you to the top of Coronado Heights, where a sandstone castle and panoramic views of the plains of Central Kansas and the Smoky Valley await. Perfect for families, groups, couples or adventurers.

Review of Coronado Heights. Reviewed December 18, 2017 via mobile. The castle looks like it does not belong in the middle of Kansas, which makes it even more of an interesting place to visit. The view at the top is very cool. You can climb to the top of the castle.
