May 5, 2021 · I have a m2 20 compact that I had dipped & cerakoted. Added a compact Mesa Tactical pistol grip and drilled/tapped myself for the 336 base with a Vortex Venom on top. It's a sweet rig but I also own a 12 and 20 Franchi Affinity for waterfowl. Same triggers on the Benelli's and Franchi's.

So picking my one and only semi-auto shotgun to do a variety of things from plinking to clays to possibly occasional casual 3 gun. Looking at Benelli M1 buds exclusive and Franchi Affinity 3. The Affinity is the "poor man's" M2. Search YouTube, there are comparison videos between the M2 and Affinity. IMO the Affinity points/shoots/handles like a dream. Just under 1000 rounds on my 12ga Affinity. The camo finish is on its 3rd season and still looks great. Never shot a Stoeger, but I didn't care for the"feel" in the store.

Hi been to my local dealer to look at the benelli M2 and the franchi affinity the franchi is a lot less money than the benelli, but the chap said they are literally the same gun, same factory, same parts etc etc it’s just the benelli feels a lot different to me, feels like it swings better maybe it’s just the forend etc

The only advantage to the M2 seems to be the comfortech stock resulting in less recoil. The only other discernible difference I've come across is the location of the recoil spring is in the stock for the M2 vs over the mag tube on the Affinity which makes them balance differently, and apparently is also a pain to get to on the M2.Re: Beretta a300 Vs. franchi affinity Vs. benelli m2. The Affinity 3 is strictly for hunting for me: it’s got a 26” barrel and is nice and light for quick shots, great fit and finish. If you want inertia and are just starting out, the Affinity 3 or the Benelli M2 are the 2 I recommend most. For gas guns, the A400 is the top contender imo.When installing chokes, make sure threads screw-in smoothly and that the choke is completely seated in the barrel.
