The 0411 PCM has a much faster processor than the Black Box PCM and has dual timing tables. There is also more support from the tuning software companies for the 0411. EFILive and HPTuners both offer "Custom Operating Systems" for the 0411 to support boost and or nitrous. The swap can be completed in about 2 1/2 hrs and is fairly easy to do.

For the P01 PCM to correctly control your 1999 Vortec based engine platform (4x CKP and a 1x CMP in the distributor), it must be programmed as a 2001 or 2002 Express / Savana with either an L30 or L31 calibration.

I want to swap the black box from the Blazer to a 0411 PCM. I have already emailed Lextech asking for pinouts for this application. I would like to know if there is an advantage to pinning the new PCM and tuning as an Express Van, as some have done, or if I am best to pin and tune as a 2002 Blazer. I am not sure if the pinning is the same or not.

The factory LT1 4x reluctor and the LS PCM in L31 vortec mode is possible but we would need to add a few internal connections to the PCM to cater to that kind of setup.
