Most all the fluids are now synthetic. But this is a different synthetic fluid that has to be used with the 8L90E transmission assembly. It's a better fluid than the dex 6 is and it is only used for the 8 speed transmission for Gm transmission. 19417577 that is the part number for the correct fluid for the 8 speed transmission.
