The only topic I saw related to this has been archived, and I would really like to see if someone can help me resolve this problem. So here goes: In Shroud Hearth Barrow, I am successfully able to get past the gate-and-lever puzzle. Once through, I get to the room where the chain must be pulled to open the next two gates to get to the rest of the dungeon.
If the quest "Lifting the Shroud" is active in the quest log, or unfinished, Arngeir will not provide Shroud Hearth Barrow's word wall as a target. If no more Words of Power can be found, Arngeir will instead say "There is only silence right now. Perhaps later we will hear one of the lost Words."
