A viscacha (or ‘vizcacha’) is an animal that is closely related to the chinchilla. It looks like a short-tailed chinchilla crossed with a hare, although it isn’t in the same family as rabbits or hares. It has long front teeth, very long whiskers, long rounded ears, a long curly tail, thick fur and a stout body.
