A melee set, where you can use a sword and a shield, and a ranged set, for dual hand crossbows etc. It does not cost an action, bonus action or any other resource to switch between them. Being able to off-hand a normal weapon instead of a light weapon means one of your two weapons get +1 damage on average. You also get +1 AC.
