The JD gave a great cut and was a 38 inch two blade deck. The LTX 1042 is also a two blade deck and gives as good a cut as the JD. I don't know if the CC is heavier than the old JD or the frame flexes more, putting the rear wheels on the ground, but traction is very good. I can cut wet grass and the mower does fine.
