My problem is that the specd gap on the original 318 plug was .025. A couple online Deere parts stores sell the Deere/NGK plug and show “standard gap .025” in description. However, the 2238 comes pre-gapped at .040, and NGK recommends not altering the gap by more than .008. Arrgh!When I try to start the mower, it cranks fine but engine doesn’t start.
