Jun 14, 2016 · My cousin has a 2008 Honda Rancher 420 ES and it will not shift electronically. We replaced every sensor on it, including the one inside the transmission/motor case. The angle sensor, relays, shift button on the handlebars, shift motor, ecu, rectifier, all fuses, everything. It will not shift with the buttons but will shift fine with the ... Probably not. The bike frame is the ground half of the electrical circuit and with the shift motor not touching the frame, it is missing the return path. So either use a temporary wire from the shift motor housing to a bare place on the frame or touch the housing to a bare portion of the frame.
